A tear for the Korean family reunions on t

The North/South Korean family reunions have resumed after 13 months in Guemgansang, North Korea. When you look at these families who have been separated for 60 years not knowing whether they were alive or dead it is hard not to shed a tear. I can’t imagine not being able to see my parents or siblings for 60 years. It must be a bitter sweet experience because after farewells they will never see each other again. Most of those attending are from 70-96 years old. 97 families and 430 people. Ironically 80,000 people are on the waiting list to be reunited with love ones and many die as they wait. North Korea uses this family reunion as a political tool to manipulate the South, demands for humanitarian aid to the South will not be ignored and have been acknowledged. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the North didn’t exploit these now elderly people and facilitate as many family reunions as possible?
