I recently submitted a paper to an academic journal. Well, last night I received 2 emails.

FIRST EMAIL: Dear Ms Menadue-Chun.

We have finished the preliminary review process and are happy to inform you that your paper has been selected for publication……..

HORRAY! My first academic journal publication….

SECOND EMAIL:

Dear Author,
We have completed the preliminary review process for papers to be published in the forthcoming spring/summer 2012 issue ***.  Unfortunately, your paper was not selected for publication by our editorial staff.  We received many high quality submissions from authors all over the world, thus making the selection process very competitive.

SO WHAT IS IT TO BE??

Sort of guessing the second email was mistake because it doesn’t have my name???

Bet there will be some back peddling going on this morning when they read my passive aggressive email….. haha
