Another major cheer for the Minister of Education- Makiko Tanaka! The sorry state of Japan’s economy and government is a result of politicians who didn’t want to step out of their comfort zones.

This whole episode regarding the building of new universities when the present ones can’t even fill their quotas should be a good warning to others with who even think they can do the same! New superfluous universities that will obviously be of a low academic standard are a waste of tax payer’s money.

They say that Makiko Tanaka acts erratically, but I consider the evil press coverage the equivalent of witch hunting…….

  1. Hi & thanx for your visits! I’ve been to Japan and to Taiwan 4 times, I miss them ’cause I love both very dearly… Friendly greetings from Toulouse, France and have a serene weekend! 🙂

      • O.K. Thanx for your reply! Your avatar is cool, too, I did recognize it… 🙂 We lived in the Paris region for 8 years, then 5 in the US(Houston, TX, NASA-area), but we did choose Toulouse(LOL!) for the (high) quality of life… 🙂 sea & mountains are at about 2h-drive, so we do have the choice all year-long… 🙂

Our son speaks and writes Chinese & Japanese fluently, he graduated from the Chengchi University of Taipei, Taiwan(international trade&relations) 6 years ago, he was the only white student! 🙂 He loves Japan, he’ll try to get a job there asap…(He does speak French and English, of course!)

Sunny and chilly greetings from France, “old Europe”… my very best, now and always!

  2. Greetings from cold Tottori…….it sounds like you have a very international family too. I have four children and two are working in international companies in Tokyo…….they love it as they both get to use their other language- English or Japanese and they also speak a little Korean. We love going to France and usually visit Paris about once a year and when we have time go to the country too. Unfortunately I don’t speak French, but as you can see, I speak Japanese and also Korean.
    Kindest regards,
    Susan

    • Hi-Konbanwa, Susan! 🙂 Yes, we do consider ourselves quite international, we do feel Europeans living in France… 🙂 I do NOT speak any Oriental language(s), only: French, Romanian, English, Spanish and some Italian… 🙂 We used to live in Paris for 8 years, our both kids were born there. You may know that Paris and France have been the most visited spots this year again, last time being in 2006, I guess…
