An enlightening documentary on Japanese gays by NHK

I just watched a wonderful programme on NHK regarding a Japanese gay man and his marriage to a Dutch partner. This sort of programme might be no big deal in other countries, but in Japan gays technically do not exist.

Nakamura san in the documentary, was open about being gay, however life became too stressful for him in Japan, and his isolation forced him to leave, he went to the Netherlands and met his life time partner.

Isn’t it about time to stop living a lie and pretend that gays do not exist in Japan? Isn’t it time to recognize them as full members of society?

Well done, NHK on such a great documentary.
