シルクロードと関係? Along the Silk-road, all the way to Japan?

Iran Korsikotatsu

Maybe this has something to do with the Silk-road? I just found out (through a kind friend) that in Iran there is a very similar version of the Japanese “kotatsu”. Even the Wikipedia says that the “kotatsu” is exclusive to Japan….well it seems not. In Iran it is a called “korsi” and it is the same! The name also sounds a comparable. Culture that was conveyed to Japan over the Silk-road? Interesting….http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kotatsu

  1. Thank you for the post 🙂 I was so surprised to see something like Korsi in Japan! And since we used korsi long time ago it was very nostalgic to see something similar with a ” laptop” on it 😀

    • Thank you so much for acquainting me with the Iranian “korsi”……. I had not idea!!! I stopped using the Kotatsu in our house because no one wanted to move when we got ours out!!!

      • hahaha!! That is so true that once we get into kotatsu or korsi, no one want to move!!!!
Anyway as same as wikipedia script I thought it was original Japanese custom but I was flog on the well. That’s why I like using facebook;)))
