父の日 おめでとうございます。優しいお父さんと お爺ちゃん、そして、父のように 他者に接する素晴らしい男性に敬を示す・・・ありがとうございます。
昨晩の おミサで お父さん方が台の上に上がり 祝福をして貰いました。
人の親切を身に染みるこのごろ・・・ 先、お茶ノ水大学のゼミから 帰って来ました。友人を通して 紹介して頂いた お茶の水大学教授が 私が 立教大学に 関わらず
論文の方法論ゼミに誘って下さいました。不安だらけの毎日が この2週間に一度の ゼミで 気持ちが楽になる・・・感謝・・・

The kindness of people can be very heartrending. I just returned from a seminar at Ochamnomizu women’s university. A dear friend introduced me to her friend an academic there, and despite the fact that I am a Rikkyo University student she invited me to attend her thesis methodology class. So, once every two weeks after attending the seminar, my confidence returns…. Many thanks!

My Dad,
My Dad had a tough upbringing so he valued education, his political views always put the weak first, he respected the rights of women, he despised wars and crime, he worked for his family and a better society, he was never selfish, he never showed off, and he was loved by his family. In his last days, he was nursed by my mother, and to many he may seem like a very unimpressive man, but I am proud to be called his daughter.
I wonder and I worry about the conversations Hashimoto will be having with his daughter…
この写真の真ん中で警官から、窓の外にポイと捨てられている小さな女の子が偶然にフェースブックの友人の お母様です。その後 お母様は民族教育者として模範的な人生を送って来られたそうです。 朝鮮学校の強制閉鎖により 宿命つけられた人生かも 分かりませんね。ところで 写真が表紙になっている 本は 友人の Lee Soo-im教授の素晴らしい著作です・・・びっくりと 言うより 同じ思いのある人に 絆と私は 考えます。

This picture was taken in 1948 when the Japanese Government ordered and forcefully closed Korean ethnic schools. The little girl in the middle, who is being harshly dumped happens to be the mother of a FB friend. I am told her mother hence devoted her life to ethnic education and is still teaching despite her advanced age.
An interesting twist to this picture- the picture has been chosen for the cover of my friend Soo-im Lee’s book.

今日、帰宅したら 私宛に 我が社の ある店舗の社員から お誕生日 プレゼントが 届いていました。びっくりしました。 開けてみたら大好物の 日本酒！そのうえ、美人酒に 私の名前―「寿沙杏」！！もう一本は「お誕生日おめでとう」！！とっても しゃれていて 皆さんの 優しさが 身に染みました。
日本政府が 何時か 二重国籍を 認めたら 日本国籍を取得したいと 思います。その時、私の名前は 「寿沙杏」ですね！！！
但し、悩みが一つあります！何時飲むかのことです！！！
皆さんの お陰で 今年は 良い一年になると 思います。

I came home a tad exhausted to find a package addressed to ME!! It was a birthday gift from employees of one of our shops. On opening the package I find it is Japanese sake! Yummmmm. The Chinese characters on the label have also been fashioned so they read “Susan”…..now, how lucky am I a to be surrounded by such wonderful people?
If Japan ever changes its laws and allows dual citizenship, I will use these Chinese characters-「寿沙杏」
Now, this wonderful gift is causing a dilemma!! When to drink?? But really? How lucky am I???
