朝鮮中央通信が25日に配信した論評で、橋下徹大阪市長と石原慎太郎東京都知事を名指しで非難した。
橋下市長と石原都知事は、21日と24日の記者会見で、日本の性奴隷犯罪を、「日本軍が強制して売春させたなんて証拠がどこにあるか」「慰安婦が軍に暴行、脅迫を受けて連れてこられたという証拠はない」などと全面否定した。
論評は、日本によって人権を踏みにじられた女性たちに対する耐え難い冒とくだと強調。日本が朝鮮をはじめ多くの国の女性を強制的に拉致、連行し性奴隷にしたことは否定することのできない厳然たる歴史的事実だと言及した。
論評はまた、性奴隷犯罪に対する軍の介入と強制性を公式に認めた河野談話（1993年）を否定していることは「決して看過できない」と指摘。「日本の反動層が何の謝罪と賠償もなしにこれを逃れようとするのは、もう一つの反人倫的犯罪」だと強調した。
そのうえで東京裁判の資料などから、日本の性奴隷犯罪が政府と軍部の直接的な関与のもとで強圧的に行われたことが明白になっていると指摘。日本は過去の犯罪の責任から逃れることができないと主張した。

気がついたら 母方の祖母のルーツは何にも知らない・・・名字は「Vandepeer」
―オランダ系の名前ですけど、祖母の祖父母は（私にとって曾曾祖父母）は１８５０年ごろイギリスから移民したそうです。少ない情報のなか、祖母の話を思い出しました。祖母によると曾曾祖母 はオーストラリアに出発した時、１７歳の新妻だったそうです。６週間の船旅が辛くて、船酔いをしたそうです。昨夜、インタネットで少し 調べてみたら 私の曾曾祖父母の写真がありました！！ 初めまして！初めてお顔を 拝見します。他にびっくりしたこともありました。曾曾祖母の 名前も「スーザン」でした・・・・
他に分かったことはVandepeer家が１５３０年ごろから 船つくりに係わり、オランダからイギリスケントに住みついたそうです。 従妹と相談したら、一緒に調べたいと 言ったのでこれからの研究が楽しみです・・・・

I hardly know anything about my maternal grandmother’s roots and I feel I owe it to my mother to find out a little more. My grandmother’s surname was “Vandepeer”, it is a Dutch name but our ancestors came from England. So last night I started hunting around on the internet. I can’t believe it! I found my great, great grandparent’s photos!! I have never seen them before. Hello!!! Susan Bryson and William James Vandepeer. The only thing I know about them is they settled in Ardrossan in South Australia and according to my grandmother, Susan was a young wife of 17 when she left England and was sea sick for 6 weeks during the long trip. Something else I found out- the Vandepeer family have been settled near Kent since the 1530s and they were involved in ship building. My cousin has come on board and we are going to see what we can do together…..

号外！！難関の日本語能力一級を合格しました！！！
７月１日に 大阪大学で日本語能力一級の試験を受けました。落ちたら困る(恥ずかしい？)ので こっそり・・・・・実を言うと 難関の試験で受験者の３５％しか合格しない・・・ドキドキ！！
受験者の中で 老眼を掛けているのは 私だけでした・・・メガネを吹く布で監視員と少しもめましたが 真白のハンカチーフで勘弁して貰った。あんな思いを二度ともしたくないと思いながら不合格なら もう一度受ける覚悟しておりました。
ほっとしました。５３歳の受験者も捨てたものじゃないですね！！

An announcement! Wow!! I passed the Japanese Proficiency Level 1 exam!!
I took the exam on 1st July but decided to do it in secret, just in case I failed!! Well I didn’t!! It is, however, an extremely difficult exam. Only 35% of all the applicants pass so I was expecting the worst.
Among the examinees I was the only one wearing reading glasses. The examiner told me I wasn’t allowed to use the cloth to wipe my glasses down…….push came to shove and she let me use a white handkerchief. I really didn’t want to have to go through those silly rules again but was prepared to go back and take the exam again in December if I failed. Phew….never have to do that again!!
Well….even at 53 we can do amazing things!!! My grade doesn’t look that fantastic but it is the equivalent of an A……..

シドニーに来るため、伊丹空港経由で成田に行きました。伊丹空港で４時間ほどの時間をつぶすために まず、食事出来るところを探しました。 何往復をして、３０年ほど前、数回食べに行った事ある サンドウィチの専門店を選びました。禁煙席をお願いしたら店員さんが禁煙席と喫煙席の位置を教えてくれました。びっくり！一番良さそうな席は全部 喫煙席、そして数えてみたら 喫煙席は２４席、禁煙席は１６席でした。混乱した私に 日本語が通じていないと思われてもう一度説明された。思わず「今の時代にこんなことあり？喫煙席が多すぎない？？・・・」と反応しない店員さんでした・・・・
もう行きたいと 思いません。

On my way to Sydney I flew from Itami (Osaka) to Narita. With a 4 hour wait at Itami…I went on a slow search for somewhere to eat lunch. I finally decided on a “gourmet sandwhich shop “, I had been there over 30 years ago….so down memory lane! I went in and the waitress asked me if I wanted to sit in the smoking or non-smoking area….that question alone did baffle me a little….guess it showed things hadn’t really changed? I guess I was slow to answer ( maybe she thought I didn’t understand Japanese?) so she pointed to the nice seats and told me they were the SMOKING SEATS (what?) and then to the other seats informing me they were the NON –SMOKING seats. I counted the seats…there were 24 SMOKING SEATS and only 16 NON-SMOKING SEATS!! In this day and age can you believe that?? I informed the waitress of my disbelief but she just didn’t seem to “get it”…….. I stayed for lunch but I won’t be going back!!!

今朝、６時半でシドニー空港の到着ロビーが賑わっていました。 海外から帰国するオーストラリア人、海外から来てくれる観光客ももちろん 多いけど、何時も 感激するシーンは「家族再会」。オーストラリアは 多文化移民国。遠い国に居る親戚が 遊びに来てくれたり、それとも オーストラリア永住のために シドニー空港に到着します。空港で泣きながら抱き合うシーンは移民国だからこそ 見れることです。

This morning Sydney Airport was busy. I always get a little emotional when I see the family reunion scenes. Of course there are Australians coming home from overseas trips, there are overseas tourists but what separates Sydney Airport from others is the people who wait in the arrival lobby- they wait to be reunited with loved ones from overseas, perhaps they are just visiting or perhaps they have come to settle for good? Nothing beats family.

日本の猛暑から 脱出・・今朝、９℃のシドニーに到着しました。現在、午後１６時半の気温は１７℃・・・冬ですよ！！！快適・・・・
疲れている・・・日本の長い猛暑はさすがに体にこたえる。今日は 朝からソファで寝 ぱなし・・・起きれない。でも マンションから見る 眺望はさすがに 癒し・・・

Escaping from the heat of Japan…this morning I arrived to a Sydney winter morning- 9 degrees, and at 4.30 in the afternoon it is 17 degrees. Can’t believe it?? You call this winter??
I am exhausted. The long HOT stinking summer in Japan has taken its toll, I can’t stop sleeping, it is almost like I am stuck to the sofa.
But the view from the sofa is comforting.
