昨日、横浜朝鮮初級学校に行って来ました。ビビンパネットの皆さん、お世話になりました。
この企画を通して、初級学校訪問は初めてでした。特に興味を持ったのは言語習得に力を注ぐ先生方の姿でした。日本に生まれた子供たちにとって朝鮮語は第二言語になる。朝鮮語習得のイマージョン法で素晴らしい成果をあげている。今、日本の学会で言語学者は朝鮮学校のバイリングアル教育を高く評価していると聞く。皮肉な事にこのような素晴らしい教育法が英語であれば日本社会は手をバチバチするでしょう？しかし、朝鮮語だから軽視もされ、時には洗脳と言われる・・・・ダブルスタンダードです。未だ、日本社会には旧植民地出身者に対する蔑視が残っています。
４人の母親であり、バイリングアル教育に力を注いだ者として、朝鮮学校の子供たちの生き生きされている姿と英語授業に対する意欲に感銘しました。

I visited the Korean school in Yokohama yesterday. The teaching of Korean by the language immersion method, in the primary school was really something. I have heard that linguistic academics in Japan have commended the Korean schools for their teaching methods, but the general public is dismissive. Ironically, if English was taught this way, everyone would be clapping and cheering but because it is Korean is relegated to just brainwashing…….. please, credit where it is deserved!

昨年中は何かとお世話になりありがとうございました
2013年、私たちは 皆様に 支えて頂きながら、 7人家族にとって 意義のある
良い一年となりました。
2013年に最大に嬉しいイベントは長男の結婚式でした。１２月２２日に人生の素晴らしい伴侶となる方と結婚しました。
私の夫は もちろん 言うまでもなく 201３年も 元気で一生懸命 働き、動き回っていました。
私は２０１３年に立教大学の博士課程の試験受けて、合格しました。そして、４月から東京に住まいを構え、又、学生となりました。夫婦共、東京と鳥取間行ったり来たりする一年でした。
201３年に 家族が ７人となり、 そして、長男夫婦の結婚式のおかげで全員が
久しぶりに顔を合わせる事が出来ました。その他、２０１３年内 個別に 旅行したりして、有義の時間を過ごす事が出来ました。
振り返ると 201３年、７人とも 精一杯 生きて来たような 気がします。
皆さんの お陰で このような 素晴らしい 一年を送る事が出来ました。
皆さんの 親切な思いやり、 応援、励まし、そして 貴重な時間を頂いた事 深く感謝しております。ありがとうございます。
20１４年が 皆さんにとって 平和である 素晴らしい一年になりますように お祈り致します。

I went to see the movie the Railway Man, movie of POWs in Burma during WWII. Highly recommend it, it is a true story, take a hankie! I kept seeing the faces of my sons in young POWs, it was horrific. Hearing of this young man writing letters to his departed mother made me cry again… But the movie conveyed a strong message regarding reconciliation. It is a true story and very powerful. It is evidently going to be released in Japan next year but I wonder what sort of a reception it will receive.
Wouldn’t it be great if all history revisionists received free tickets??
映画『レイルウェイ 運命の旅路』 コリン・ファース主演、ニコール・キッドマン、真田広之 共演（英題：The Railway Man）（2013年） を見て来ました。真田広之さんの勇気ある出演に頭が下がる。もっと好きになりました。この映画は日本で公開する時に字幕が気になります。実話だから非常に説得力がある。日本帝国軍による連邦軍の捕虜扱いは実話に基づき、残虐で「悲劇と言うより犯罪」のがよく伝わりました。若い軍人に我が息子の顔が入れ替わってしまって涙ボロボロでした。そして、既に亡くなっていた母親に手紙を書きづけた主人公の発言に又涙・・・・
しかし、この映画が根本的に伝えたいメッセージは和解が可能であることです・・・・
安倍晋三総理、石破茂幹事長と歴史修正家たちに招待状を送りたいです！！

「たかじんのそこまで言って委員会は前から見ないことに決めている。しかし、この前の放送が 問題となり、友人から送って貰った。・・・酷いですね。品格ない日本人大集合。公共の電波を利用し、平気な顔して悪意に満ちた発言は 過去の反省もゼロ！傲慢そのもの！たかじん が居たごろより レベルが非常に低下しましたね。このような番組はドイツでは放送が出来るはずはない・・・ドイツは過去の清算をしているから・・・・
あの気持ちの悪い竹田恒泰は 分かったふりをして 自信満々に 差別表現を発言するけど 事実と違いますよ。 騙されないように・・恐ろしい！怖いです・・

I recently attended a workshop on the state of homeless people in South Korea. I was pleased to hear that the level of care received is of a high standard, in fact well above Japan. But something really bothers me…… every year about 5 homeless people are murdered in Japan and it is NEVER even reported in the press. According to Korean sources incidents like this are nonexistent.
この前、韓国のホームレス事情についての報告を聞きました。 日本人講師の話によると 日本より 野宿者に対してのケアが進んでいるとそうです。しかし・・・ 毎年 日本で5人ほどの 野宿者は 殺されるのに マスコミが全然取り上げないことに 聞いて 本当にびっくりしました！ 弱者を軽視している社会ではないでしょうか？？ 因みにこのような事件は韓国では 起こらないそうです・・・
夏にベルリンに行き、戦後の処理問題について ドイツと日本の違いを考えていました。戦後のドイツは 隣国と良好な関係を築いたのに 日本は度々 謝罪をしているはずなのに この行為が 必ずと 言って良いぐらい跳ね返るは何故か？
尊敬するリンド教授の本を読み 色々と見えて来ました。簡単に纏めると ドイツは日本と同様戦後間もない時期は 戦争責任と云うより 我が国民の犠牲を中心に考えた。その後、ドイツの隣国は 領土問題に対する危機もなく徐々に歴史と向き合う姿勢を取った。ドイツは正式的な謝罪もなく、償い文化となり、恐ろしい過去を否定する人たちに対して決して許せない環境となった。 日本の場合は 何回も謝罪をされている、相手国はこの謝罪を有難く受けられている。しかし、跳ね返る原因は 謝罪後に必ずと言って良いぐらい否定をする人が出てくる。この否定文化は確かに日本で許されている。領土問題もそうですが・・隣国が 本当に日本を信頼出来るまで ドイツのように戦後は 終わりません。

Living in Japan, you feel like you are constantly being bombarded with the insensitive gaffes of politicians.
In August I visited Berlin, Germany is not dragging its past around like Japan, it is moving ahead. It made me wonder why as Japan has showed contrition regarding past aggression but every time it offers an apology there is a massive backlash. Why? So I read Jennifer Lind’s book the “Sorry States” and it now clearer. In a nutshell- after the war both Germany and Japan were preoccupied with the sufferings and sacrifices of their own people rather than addressing past aggression. Germany then moved on to confront its past; there were no struggles over territory and any form of denial became an offensive and unforgivable act. So, Germany with no form of formal apology gained the trust of former enemies because they stopped conceiving it as a threat. Japan, has shown contrition and while the apologies have been accepted, the backlash has been caused by constant statements of denial. In comparison to Germany, comments of denial are condoned in Japanese society. The territorial issues have further been a cause to see Japan as a threat. Until a middle road can be established the current status quo will continue and Japan will still exist in the post war era.

「ちょっと ザマミロ」のどうでも 良い話です。
人の不幸は蜜の味を楽しんだらいけません！鳥取の自宅の 前の庭が 都市計画道路で取り壊された。嫌な事も たくさん言われた。
３日前から 始まり、門も庭も 壊された・・・ そして、 わざわざその悲惨の状況を楽しみに見に来た人も 居るようです（人の不幸は蜜の味）。見えなくなったかしらないけど・・・ 車が 溝に嵌ったらしい・・・・ ザマミロ！！昨日 嵌ったのに 未だあるそうです・・・爆笑！

If you aren’t careful, sometimes you will get more than what you wish for….
Our garden in our Tottori home is being carved up to make way for a new road. In the process of our dealings with the local government we have also had to tolerate many indignant comments from neighbors trying to calculate how much we would be compensated for….
Well, now it is our turn to snigger….. evidently some busy body came to see the rubble created in our once beautiful garden and maybe they tried too hard because their car fell down a ditch and still has not been removed. Ha ha……
